TRANSPARENT
Ultramarine Blue (T)*
Burnt Sienna (T, slightly)*
Cadmium Scarlet (T)*
Cobalt Blue Tint (T, HTL Holbein)  
Indian Yellow (T, HTL Holbein)
Lemon Yellow (T)*
Rose Madder, Genuine (T)*

Nice colors to round out your palette (but not necessary for this class)

Antwerp Blue (T)
Permanent Rose (T, HTL)
Quinacridone Burnt Orange (T, Daniel Smith)
Sap Green (optional – T)

OPAQUE
     Raw Sienna (O)*
     Winsor Red (O, HTL)

Nice colors to round out your Opaque palette (but not necessary for this class)

* Please note:  These colors are your "must have" basic colors.  If you don't want to purchase  large quantities of watercolor tubes just purchase a beginner watercolor set (Winsor Newton Cotman, Shiva or Grumbacher)


BRUSHES:  Buy good brushes...They will last forever if well cared for!
     Preferably 1 larger round (#12, or #14 round)
     A couple of smaller rounds  #6 and #8
     One 1” flat for washes
     A couple of smaller flats  1/4inch and 1/2 inch

(IF YOU ALREADY HAVE GOOD BRUSHES ... STICK WITH THOSE! )

PAPER:

A pad of inexpensive watercolor paper to use as practice paper. at least 12 x 14" in size 

D’Arches 140 lb Cold Press (D’Arches watercolor blocks are fine)  12" x 16" or larger for your really serious paintings.  One sheet will be enough to do four small paintings.


MISC:

     Larger size ( like Robert Wood, John Pike or Cheap Joe’s) Palette

     1 bottle of waterproof India Ink or a pen with WATERPROOF INK                                              
     Sketchbook  11" x 14"    

     Foam board, etc.  18” x 24" or drawing board to tape your paper on.

     Masking tape (artist/painter's tape)

    4B or 6B pencils
     Gum eraser (or white eraser)
     Spray bottle (really fine spray) Check your bathroom collection of bottles for      this.  The spray must be a mist.

     Paper towels
     Painter's Sponge

     Rubber cement
     Rubber cement pick-up eraser
     Baby toothbrush
     Small bar soap (Motel-type bar)  to be used to protect your masking fluid brush.
